Benefits of Playing Futsal in the Age of Adolescence

Many would define futsal as another term for indoor soccer, but it is much more than that.

In today’s society, it seems as if children in adolescence are focused more on technology and less on playing sports, such as futsal.

Increased technology use during such a strange and trying time of life for young adolescents creates a threat of social disconnection and lack of self-esteem amongst many other negative effects, which will ultimately impact the development of any child going through this phase of their life.

There are seemingly endless benefits of playing futsal at any age but playing during the adolescent period of life opens the doors to success in adulthood. This can be argued not only because of the physical and mental benefits, but also due to the fact it instills time management, rational decision making, and understanding the importance of following rules.  

Many of the physical benefits of playing futsal are to be expected to come with any sport, such as physical condition, reducing the risk of obesity, and muscle growth and stimulation. It is important to note that there are other physical benefits that are not seen but still occur. These include lowering blood pressure, preventing heart disease, and even helping to oxygenate the blood to increase cardiovascular capacity.

On the other hand, the psychological benefits of playing include teaching discipline, relieving stress, improve concentration level, but most importantly it teaches children to face their problems and reach goals through tactical reasoning, which can be relevant for any issue they might face later on in life. Playing a team sport such as futsal also helps to maintain a schedule, which has been proven to be beneficial for developing and maintaining good mental health, and also assists in disconnecting from any stress of becoming a young adult for the duration of the game.
